Introducing drones to quarrying in Norway

Recently we were part of UAV training in Norway discussing the use of this emerging technology for quarrying.
In November our MD Simon Briggs travelled to the Brønnøy Kalk mine in Norway to give a talk about introducing drones into quarrying and to take part in training. As drone technology develops it is likely to play an important role in both land surveying and quarrying. Simon discussed this topic and its implications as this technology becomes a common tool in the surveyor’s arsenal.
Spending time in a Norwegian mine was also a chance to appreciate the very different geology to UK quarries. UAV flight training was done with a backdrop of stunning granite faces.
